The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Indianapolis Colts 42-28 on a cold and snowy Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. The Bengals immediately jumped on the Colts 21-0, and it didn’t matter to the Bengals that temperatures were in the 20s. This game had significant playoff implications for the Bengals. They needed the win to hold a two-game lead on the Baltimore Ravens, who also won today.
The Bengals stay in first place of the AFC North at 9-4 while the Ravens are in second at 7-6. The Bengals have three games remaining and will finish the season against the Steelers, Vikings and Ravens on December 29 at Paul Brown Stadium.
Winning the AFC North crown could result in a showdown between the Bengals and the Ravens, who defeated the Bengals 20-17 at Baltimore in November.
Today, Bengals QB Andy Dalton had a stellar afternoon after throwing three touchdowns and taking one in himself. He also passed for 275 yards in the winning effort. Bengals teammates RB Gio Bernard rushed for 99 yards, and WR AJ Greene caught six passes for 72 yards.
