After a two-day trial, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Adam “Pacman” Jones was ruled not guilty of assaulting a woman he punched in the face. Judge Robert Taylor ruled that Shannon Wesley, 34, was the aggressor on June 5 after pouring a beer on the Cincinnati Bengals player.
The judge ruled that Jones defended himself because Wesley had a beer bottle near his eye. He referred to the incident as a reaction.
The women involved in the incident said that Jones became rude after speaking to one of the women in their group. After trying to get him to leave, he became irate and began calling them names.
Wesley responded by pouring a beer on Jones. He then punched her and knocked her down.
Assistant prosecutor Bernadette Longano called it absurd that Jones’ would feel threatened by Wesley. The judge based his decision on what he saw in the video of the incident. Read more about this story at the Cincinnati Enquirer.
