Coconut milk is rich in protein, and hair is made of protein which absorbs into the hair shaft to strengthen and prevent hair breakage. Coconut milk can be found in health food stores or grocery stores in the pasta isle or canned food isle. Coconut milk also hydrates and conditions the hair during the conditioning process. A good way to condition your hair with coconut milk is to add 2-4 ounces to your hair along with an herbal hair conditioner, and leave it on the hair for 30-60 minutes with a shower cap.
You can also make your own hair conditioner by mixing 2 ounces of coconut milk along with 1 avocado, 1 tablespoon of pure clover honey, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil; another DIY homemade conditioner for natural hair.
