Ballroom dance and big band jazz fans may be interested in a special event this weekend. Bakersfield's Glenwood Gardens is presenting Let's Dance on Sunday, April 27th. The event is a benefit for Christmas for Seniors and the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop.

Participants will be able to take free dance lessons, hear some live comedy, watch some expert dancers show how it's done, and then participate in an open, free dance themselves. Additionally, there will be several vendors displaying their wares as well as a raffle for prizes.

The schedule of events includes dance lessons from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., a comedy routine by Jim Fillbrandt of Stars Dinner Theatre at 3 p.m., followed by a dance exhibition and open dancing. Dance lessons will be provided by Shari Fortino of the Debonaire School of Ballroom Dancing. The dance band has been put together by Steve Eisen of the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop.
