Because you are born in sin and shaped in iniquity, there is a process of change that God has to root out of you, that requires some unmasking, digging down deep beneath the surface layers of your heart. However, only God knows the root of the problem. You cannot hide from God. He is the creator of creation. He is our father through Christ Jesus. When you experience problems in your lives, you can take them to God. You are woven into the very fabric of God. In other words, you are linked to God, your emotions, behavior, everything that goes on in your life, God already knows about it. You can take your wretchedness and insecurities to God. You are linked emotionally, spiritually, socially, and financially to God.
When you have a problem, take a look beneath the surface of your lives. What lies beneath the surface of your heart is your inner-most being, the part of you that needs molding, developing, restored, and transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. So often you try to resolve your own issues, but failure is usually the result. You are used to showing the exterior portions of your lives, leaving the interior neglected because you don't know how to bring about an emotional healing on our own; so your soul cries out desperately for help. God hears your cry, but you sometimes don't believe that he hears you, and you take matters into your own hands. But the deep underlying surface of your inner man is the part that only God knows, better than you do.
Therefore, God can fix whatever hinders you beneath those surface layers. Often times, we spend countless hours worrying and frustrated simply because we don’t have the answers. For example, beneath the surface I sometimes worry that I will not have the resources I need to fulfill God’s vision in this earthly realm, but now I realize I am not the one who is going to make provision for the vision that God has given me. God is my provider. Therefore, I had to take a deep look inside of myself, beneath the surface of my life; which I had never considered. I worry about my health, instead of realizing that God is my healer. I worry about being safe, not realizing that God is my protector. When you take a deep hard look inside of yourselves, you are destroying those things that hinder you, and thereby trusting God, his grace and love for you. God’s unmerited favor is released in you when you trust Him to handle your problems. When you realize that God is omnipotent; (all powerful) omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (everywhere) you then realize that God is obligated to take care of you. So taking a deeper look inside, allows truth in the inward parts and the results will be an emotionally healthy and spiritually mature person who is set free in Christ Jesus.
