Ben Foster to replace Shia LaBeouf on Broadway (Photos)

For those of you excited about Shia LaBeouf's Broadway debut, sorry to burst your bubble. Yesterday, it was announced that LaBeouf was leaving the cast of "Orphans" over creative differences with co-star Alec Baldwin. Instead of LaBeouf, another actor will be making his Broadway debut in the play and that person is Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand and for people my age, Flash Forward on Disney).

LaBeouf posted a series of emails exchanged between him, Baldwin, co-star Tom Sturridge and director Dan Sullivan, along with a copy of his audition video to his Twitter feed (@thecampaignbook). On February 18th, days before the emails were released, he tweeted that he put his hand through a door during rehearsal. Perhaps this was a sign of the inevitable on the set of "Orphans"? While the emails did express the fact that there were creative differences (and Dan Sullivan admitting he should have known there would be some), all of the emails ended with well wishes to everyone involved.

Now, Ben Foster has been cast to fill in for Shia LaBeouf, with rehearsals set to begin on Friday. Despite the casting change, the show is still scheduled to open on April 7th (previews begin March 17th) at the Schoenfeld Theater.
