The Cincinnati Enquirer reports today that Ben Flick, 19, an offensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bearcats has died in an automobile accident. Three others were injured in the accident. Two of the three are listed in critical condition.
Flick was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Saturday around 10:30 p.m.
Mark Barr and Javon Harrison, both UC teammates, were also involved in the wreck. The fourth young man is Sean Van Dyke, 18, a Miami University freshman. Barr and Van Dyke are listed in critical condition while Harrison is in stable condition.
Coach Tommy Tuberville cancelled today’s practice.
“I am devastated that we have lost a member of the UC football team, Ben Flick, and that two others, Mark Barr and Javon Harrison, are seriously injured following a tragic car accident.”
Ben Flick was a local student that had graduated from Hamilton High School in 2013.
The three redshirted freshman and attended Saturday’s game against Miami University of Ohio. The Bearcats won the game 14-0.
