Ben Curtis moves into position for a shot at the Travelers Championship title

Kent State graduate Ben Curtis (class of 2000) put himself in position to win another PGA Tour title when he shot a six under par round of 64 on the third day of the 2010 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut to put himself in second place at -13 overall.

Curtis was one of three golfers to shoot a 64 on the third day of competition. Curtis registered a 65 in the opening round and a 68 in the second round to enter the final round on Sunday (6/27) with an overall score of 197.

Curtis trails Justin Rose who has a three round score of 194 (-16).

As a professional, Curtis won the British Open in 2003 and carded two victories in 2006 when he finished on top at the Booz Allen and 84 Lumber Classic championships. He was also a member of the victorious 2008 United States Ryder Cup Team. Curtis finished tied for fourth at the Travelers Championship in 2009.
