Somethings I just love about the social networking such as the information spread through Facebook and this was something I picked up on through Ben Cameron’s information :
The Depressions June Residency @ The Family Wash.
That peaked my curiosity and having seen Ben Cameron in a larger venue which I was very enchanted with I knew I would enjoy this special treat seeing this artist in this venue.
With my musician husband John we enjoyed some good food and some great music and I highly recommend getting out to see Ben at any venue but this particular setting has its own Nashville charm.
Ben Cameron is playing with The Depressions for the month of June on Wednesday’s at The Family Wash in East Nashville.
The Family Wash is a great small eatery with a nice homey mellow good food and down to earth vibe in East Nashville.
I spent a satisfying evening of enjoying Ben Cameron’s delivering diversity mixed with just enough eloquence, vulnerability and honesty edginess to his music. I was delighted to be listening to and soaking in the stories and experiences told through Ben Cameron on a recent Wednesday.
Ben featured a compact but very full sound band The Depression’s Keyboards, Guitar, Bass, Drums and Ben on Acoustic Guitar.
Ben has a very powerfully controlled way of delivering his touch you to the core lyrics in the performance of his songs. Ben has a honesty tinged with dark night of the soul it resonates to the core of the listener with experiences extending to the commonality of sharing human experiences.
The Depressions are able to pick up on cues to and fuse the breaks and fills of songs with enough interest to enhance the sets and also hold the interest of the audience.
Ben’s genre has been billed as Folk Rock, Lyrical, Roots music. With the clear classic ability’s that shine through he has that extraordinary honesty that crosses genres and truly encompasses the listener.
The set list was a nice mix and had great overlapping harmony’s that flowed through The Depressions and went through the waves and crest of building and refraining at a very skillful flow with enough tension in the breaks fills and holding back just enough and when to not over shadow the storytelling of the songs.

The Family Wash is a great place to enjoy some delightful food and music the wait staff was friendly , fabulous and serve up just the right vibe for an enjoyable night at a intimate venue with the talent that Nashville is famous for.
