Ben Affleck took home the top prize on Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards. The actor turned director was honored for his film Argo and was named as best director in a major motion picture. The win definitely made an impact on Ben Affleck and it appears he is still taking it all in. On Monday morning the actor thanked the Golden Globes along with all his fans for the inconceivable honor.

“To hear your name included among directors I've long admired is incredible. To win? Wow, thank you HFPA. #GoldenGlobes,” tweeted Ben Affleck from his official Twitter account on Monday. The entertainer wanted to let the world know just how grateful he was for the opportunity.

The movie also scooped up the award for best motion picture in the drama category. Competing against some very stiff competition, to pick up the award definitely meant the voters felt it was one of the best movies for the year.

With more award shows in the coming weeks, it is expected more wins will be coming. However, the biggest win might be coming at the box office as people are intrigued to go check the film out and see what the fuss is all about.
