According to TMZ on Feb. 25, just hours after accepting his Oscar for Best Picture for "Argo," Ben Affleck shaves beard in celebration.
According to the site, Affleck shaved his beard at the Oscars after-party while at Craig's restaurant. Not only did he shave it at the restaurant, but he did it in the hallway outside the bathroom because there was a convenient outlet there. Apparently, Affleck considered the beard, which he wore the entire time he made "Argo," as a good luck charm.
It worked.
Ben Affleck won the award for Best Director at the Golden Globes awards and the Director's Guild awards and then, while he was not even nominated for the Best Director award at the Oscars (Ang Lee won for "Life of Pi), Affleck did win the biggest award of the night for Best Film.
Affleck gave a fantastic acceptance speech where he spoke about winning an Oscar win he was just a kid and then getting back up every time he was knocked down. He said that he is proof that anyone can make it as long as they fight.
Ben Affleck shaves beard, and now he has to hope that his luck will continue as he moves on to his next movie.
