Ben Affleck's hand scribbles from his daughter brought him good luck at the Critics' Choice Awards, just as he had hoped. The actor-turned-director won Best Director at the awards ceremony, and “Argo” also won the Best Picture award. Hollywood shared the details about the award and the good luck charm on Jan. 11.
Though Ben Affleck's hand scribbles weren't mentioned as he walked the red carpet, he did joke about them during his Best Director award acceptance speech. Ben has two daughters, Violet and Seraphina, with wife Jennifer Garner, and the couple added a son to the family last year. Ben didn't mention which daughter wrote on his hand, but he did joke that people would probably see more of it since the good luck charm seemed to work so well this time around.
Affleck was shocked to win the Best Director award, and he was able to joke about being overlooked by the Academy for a Best Director nod. The Daily Mail shares great shots showing Ben Affleck's hands with his daughter's scribbles on them, and fans think it's sweet he kept them on throughout the evening.
Were you surprised by Affleck's Best Director win? Do you think he should have gotten an Oscar nomination for “Argo”? Did you notice Ben Affleck's hand scribbles at the event?
