Last year, there had been a slew of news circulating about the “Man of Steel” sequel directed by Zack Snyder. After it was announced that Batman would be in the sequel, fans flipped out and were full of excitement...until it was announced that Ben Affleck was cast to be the new Batman. Fans became furious and put out jokes about the actor playing The Dark Knight. Of course you can’t please every fan in the world. For 1989’s “Batman” film, fans were angry that director Tim Burton cast Michael Keaton for the title role. Fans quickly ate their words when Mr. Mom put on the cape and cowl in what now could be considered as the best Batman yet. Now fans may end up eating their words again, as director Zack Snyder has released the first photo of the new Batmobile and Ben Affleck in the new Batsuit.
Today, Superhero Hype reports that the director took to Twitter to unveil the new Dark Knight for the new upcoming sequel, which is unofficially titled “Batman Vs. Superman.” Even though the movie doesn’t hit theaters until summer of 2016, it doesn’t hurt to build excitement for it.
Yesterday, the director teased a photo of the Batmobile, which made fans curious about what was hiding under the tarp. With his teasing caption on Twitter with the photo: "Could be time to pull the tarp…Tomorrow?"
In January, news broke about the suit when actor and director Kevin Smith claimed he saw the first photo from Snyder. On Smith’s podcast “Fatman on Batman,” he went into further details about his excitement for the suit and fans, saying that they will be very pleased and excited when they see it.
“I said ‘oh my god, that’s the suit? The suit looks amazing, man. What did you get people to model it?’ and he (Synder) goes ‘that’s your boy’ and I look closely and it’s Ben Affleck wearing the suit.” Smith said in his podcast.
“The suit… it’s not mine to spill in terms of what it looks like, you’ll see it, they’ll tell you when they want you to know. Any Batman fan is going to be f***ing pleased, I’m going to tell you that right now. Like f***ing beside themselves going holy s*** they did it. It was phenomenal, man and made me happy as hell.”
The revealing of the new suit is something positive for the upcoming film. With other than random characters such as Wonder Woman and Cyborg cast, many fans had made comments like “Just make ‘Batman vs. Superman’ a Justice League Movie.” All jokes aside, this is something to look forward to by actually seeing the suit in action well before the film hits the big screen. You never know, fans may have a change of heart and eventually consider Gigli the best Batman.
