It was just announced last night and buzzing all over the web as a result that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman, after Christian Bale dropped out of the picture. Man of Steel, which was released this year starred Henry Cavill as the title character of Superman. He was fairly unknown before the role, unless of course, you were a big fan of the show 'The Tudors' which ran from 2007 until 2010. Affleck is set to play Batman and first time ever on screen, Batman and Superman will be seen together, which should excite comic book fans everywhere. Although, we all remember the last time we saw Affleck on the big screen playing a superhero and that did not seem to go too well.
Many people are already criticizing the casting choice because of this, although he seems to have evolved a lot since that role. After his direction of excellent films such as 'The Town' and 'Argo,' it seems that he has redeemed himself from his horrible mishap with 'Daredevil,' which nobody seemed to care for. Cavill is going to reprise his role as Clark Kent and Superman in the new film, which is still unnamed. Zack Snyder, who directed the recent 'Man of Steel' film will also be directing the sequel. 'Man of Steel' recently broke the record for biggest June opening when it appeared in theaters this year, bringing in 125.1 million in the first weekend. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are all set to return for the second film as well. Affleck of course has made a name for himself over the years and for some reason some fans continue to hate him. Maybe this film will change that for some people, although some may just completely avoid the film altogether.
