According to The Telegraph on Aug. 24, there appears to be an outrage among internet dwellers and DC Universe fans as Ben Affleck takes on the new role in the "Batman vs. Superman" film. Warner Brothers has selected the 41 year old actor to replace Christian Bale who had played in the previous "Dark Knight" films and fans were quite outraged.
A huge amount of petitions were even launched to prevent this from even happening. Although, Patton Oswalt made a mention of deleting and blocking anyone who runs said "Fire Ben Affleck from Playing Batman" petitions on his Facebook page. So even celebrities are taking notice and taking evasive maneuvers to cut Affleck some slack and as actors, everyone always has some kind of challenging role in a movie that may not have been popular.
Some fans even went to a greater extent and took their concerns to the federal government at a petition portion section of the White House website to have President Obama even consider doing away with his portrayal of the character.
"Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder did mention that 20th Century Fox had their reasons and thinks that the actor can portray the maturity of playing an older version of Batman along with the youthful Henry Cavill as Superman.
"Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry's Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime-fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne".
"Batman vs. Superman" is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015 and will be directed by Zach Snyder.
