We all know that Batman has protected our shores and our soil while defending us against the worst super villains of all time. We all know that, if it wasn't for Batman, this great country of ours would not even exist today.
I mean, seriously.
So to give that mantle of responsibility to the likes of Ben Affleck is just...just...wait...
Is Affleck playing Batman REALLY that much more important than the crooked operation of the IRS, the cover-up of Benghazi, the NRA spying on each and every email you've sent, text you've sent, phone call you've talked on, and possible every minute you've been on the computer?
Is the idea of Affleck playing the caped crusader really more important than countless lives being lost through the never-ending wars of the last two administrations?
Is the huge blunder of Affleck wearing a spandex suit really worse than our Constitution being trampled on and ripped to shreds?
Phew. I'm so glad that We the People have absolutely nothing better to do with our time than worry about some random Hollywood celeb wearing a sacred spandex suit. It's thrilling to know that ALL of our bills are paid, we have NO debt, we live comfortably, we teach our kids RESPECT...hell, we demonstrate respect, and we've not had an outsider attack us...well, ever.
So very comforting to know all of this.
Now, if we can put the absurdity aside, maybe we can focus on what's REALLY important. Ben Affleck as Batman? Sure, let the man make a few more million. Don't see the movie if you don't like him. THAT will show Hollywood, right? Let's you and me focus on how you and me can make those few million and use it to support our own family.
You know who else had the important stuff in mind? You know who else had the future of our great country in mind? You know who else wants to see every citizen prosper?
Our Founding Fathers.
