We still have not found him but there have been several sightings including 1 picture (so i know its him). Animal control set a live trap in the area (he has been seen in the same area everyday) and im staying on a bluf that overlooks everything in a lawn chair waiting for him with my other dog. Im confident we will catch him soon.
If you live in the area, please continue to keep a lookout for him. Anyone who sees him or has any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call his "dad's" cell phone at 443-302-9536. You can also contact the San Diego County Animal Shelter's emergency phone number at 619-767-2675.
Carlsbad, Calif. - Nine fierce wildfires have been raging across northern San Diego County for the past few days now. People are evacuating their homes for their own safety.
Unfortunately, animals and family pets are also victims of natural disasters such as this. One such victim is Tikaani, a family's beloved 4-year-old husky-lab mix.
Tikaani's owner's girlfriend was caring for him while his owner was at work. However, she had to be rescued for smoke inhalation. She wanted to take Tikaani with her, but the police said they could not take him. She knew that if she left Tikaani in the house, he would die. She had to make the tough and heartbreaking decision to let him run off. That alternative would at least give him a chance to survive the fire, which was fast approaching the house.
As of now, Tikaani is still missing. Desperate to be reunited with his beloved pooch, Tikaani's owner posted an ad on Craigslist. In it, Tikaani's owner says:
HELP PLEASE....MY DOG IS MISSING.... HE IS ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. HE HAS A BLUE COLLAR WITH MY PHONE NUMBER ON IT WITH A MARYLAND ADDRESS..PLEASE DONT JUST TAKE THE COLLAR OFF HIM AND KEEP HIM IN YOUR HOME. PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE ! ! !
His name is Tikaani (the a's sound like the noise made when the dr checks your throat, say ahh).
Description: 4 Year Old Tan/White Husky/Lab
I was at work and my girlfriend had to get rescued by the police for smoke inhalation and they could not take the dog so she had to set him free to give him a chance.
Animal rescue advocate Kerri Shafer-Ross visited the apartments at 1961 Cassia Street in Carlsbad this afternoon to help find Tikaani. Unfortunately, the search was unsuccessful.
Anyone who spots Tikaani is directed to not chase him. Rather, follow and watch him. Call San Diego County Animal Shelter in Carlsbad at (760) 438-2312 or (619) 767-2675 and ask if they can assist with his rescue. Again, Tikaani is white/tan in color and is a husky-lab mix. Also, contact Tikaani's owner via his Craigslist ad.
