Chick Willis, Atlanta's much-loved "Stoop Down Man" passed away on Saturday from cancer. He was 79

Willis got his start touring with his cousin Chuck Willis and then with Elmore James before finding his own niche with :Stoop Down: in the 70's. The adult themes of his songs limited radio play but made him immensely popular in live performances and on jukeboxes.

He was a popular member of the Atlanta blues community and he will be missed.

Let's all try to help make sure that Chick Willis gets the resting place he deserves. So many of our blues greats have not gotten proper recognition for years after they died. We can help make sure that does not happen.
