Bellevue Easter egg hunt brings children and baskets to Red Caboose Park

The annual Easter egg hunt at Red Caboose Park drew hundreds of children to Bellevue's community park. The dogwood trees at the park were in bloom, providing a welcoming sight to little boys and girls carrying Easter baskets and hoping to load up on eggs.

Thousands of bright, colorful eggs were in view in four cordoned off areas of the park where children waited according to their age groups for the various hunts to begin.

The toddlers were off and running first...or toddling as the case might be, but the little ones had a hard time picking up eggs as the overly-aggressive parents were there first, practically snatching eggs out of tiny hands. The rest of the fields were relatively grownup free allowing the kids to be kids and find a few eggs.

The eggs contained slips of paper with either Bible verses or prize numbers, and the young tykes seemed happy with the hunt and their prizes. A beautiful spring day made the Easter event that much nicer.

The Spring Art Hop is also going on at Cheekwood today.
