The first Bellator MMA pay-per-view was ruined when Tito Ortiz pulled out with a neck injury. However, Rajah reported on Oct. 30 that TNA Wrestling and MMA star Rampage Jackson will still fight on the card, albeit against a different opponent.
The PPV was sold on the first meeting between former UFC legends Quentin “Rampage” Jackson and Tito Ortiz. With Ortiz pulling out, the shine was off of Bellator’s big move into pay-per-view, so the company changed gears and turned it into a free Spike TV four-hour broadcast.
The new main event for the show on Nov. 2 pits Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler against former Bellator Champion Eddie Alvarez. Also on the show is an Interim Light Heavyweight Title fight between King Mo and Emanuel Newton, as well as a Bellator Featherweight Title fight between Pat Curran and Daniel Straus.
Rampage Jackson has also scheduled a new opponent and will take place on Nov. 15 when he makes his Bellator debut against former UFC fighter Joey Beltran. In typical Jackson fashion, he thanked Beltran for stepping up so he can get his first win in Bellator out of the way.
The Rampage Jackson vs. Joey Beltran Bellator fight will also take place on Spike TV for free.
