Shop for a good cause: Nov. 5 Belk Charity Sale

Get your wallets ready fashionistas, when you hit the shops this time, it will be for a good cause. Now you definitely have justification for those new beautiful Louis Vuitton's.

Bargain hunters every where will "save money to raise money" at the infamous Belk Charity Sale Nov. 5th from 6 - 10 a.m. The four-hour, semi-annual private shopping event will benefit local non-profits and schools throughout the community, and provide shoppers a 20 - 70 percent discount on their favorite items. And that's not all ladies. On the morning of, the first 100 shoppers in each Belk store (see here for a full listing of locations) will receive free Belk gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $100, and a chance to win one of three $1,000 Belk gift cards awarded company-wide. Each charity sale ticket gives customers $5 off their first purchase including cosmetics and fragrances, 25 percent off shoes (that's my kind of deal ;)), 60 percent off fine jewelry, 25 percent off kids, watches, handbags, dresses, juniors and more.

“Belk is committed to being involved in our communities and supporting causes important to our customers,” said Jessica Graham, vice president, communications and community relations at Belk. “Each Belk Charity Sale offers us the opportunity to reach thousands of nonprofits across our footprint and to help them raise much needed funds.”

In 2010 alone, the Belk Charity Sale raised more than 9.5 million for hundreds of participating charitable organizations.

Join in by purchasing your tickets directly from participating non-profit organizations now - charities get to keep 100 percent of profits from each $5 ticket sold. Then, beginning this Friday, Oct. 28, tickets may be purchased at Belk stores with all revenues from in-store ticket sales equally divided among participating charities and schools in each local store.

Help your local community by shopping - not too shabby of a task, I'd say. I would probably chip in anyway, but the sales are a definite bonus! Interested in the top Fall looks you can get at Belk? Check out Belk's personal stylist on My Carolina Today.

See you at Belk's Charity Sale Nov. 5 at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh or Streets at Southpoint in Durham.
