Being prepared has been the big ongoing series here. You can never be too prepared with kids, but it's definitely worth a noble effort. Pile that on top of the day & age in which we live, there is no excuse for not having at least one emergency/ survival kit around your house.
We have covered medical, food, water, survival kits... I realize this may all be a bit much for digestion, especially if you don't follow the news, or don't believe that we are headed towards some sort of destruction.
I believe we are in for disaster. The unrest and general climate is almost palpable, and it makes me uncomfortable.
If you have decided to get your family prepared, you probably have emergency medical supplies, extra food, water and basic needs for survival. If you are prepared for the worst, you will be much better off when the worst happens.
Unfortunately, just as we are ready for disaster, there will be those who are not. There will also be those who are not prepared, and will be ready to steal and commit crimes for what they need. What will you do if one of these individuals shows up demanding your supplies?
Hopefully you have heard what I have been saying about getting prepared and could tell that it means a lot to me. I feel that as parents, we need to provide for our children and be prepared to protect them. I realize these next couple of articles could possibly stir up some unhappy campers. I am OK with that.
I firmly believe that every home should have some sort of defense system in it. I believe that this defense system, while alarms are nice, should be loadable and have a trigger. Yes, I am talking about a firearm.
I have gathered what I hope will be persuasive information for you. I have an interview, news stories, fellow Examiner articles...
Please at least open your mind to entertaining the thought. I will do my best to win you over, but in the long run, what I think doesn't matter. It's what I do and believe, and if we disagree, I am OK with that, too.
