Teen Mom star Maci Bookout debuted her brand new special, Being Maci, tonight on MTV. The show follows Maci and her son, Bentley, in their daily lives. Now, the pair shares a bedroom in a house with Maci’s two new friends, Katie and Nikki. Maci is still attending school, majoring in journalism, and she also has her own weekly radio show.
The show started out with a brief appearance on Maci’s radio show, followed by her struggle to wake Bentley up and get him ready for preschool. After she dropped Bentley off, Maci returned back home and talked to her friends about the million followers she has on Twitter while she got ready for school. On the way to school, Maci lectured her friend Katie on getting her homework done and not giving her excuses. After school, the two of them picked Bentley up and took him bowling. Their friends Brandon and Nikki also met them to bowl. Bentley mis-behaved, so Maci took him aside and into the bathroom to give him a spanking.
Once they got home, Maci tried to talk to Bentley about the rooms in the house, and Maci suggested she would move her things into a room so they could each have their own. (Bentley didn’t like that idea).
Ryan and his newly brunette girlfriend, Dalis, talked about her going out of town and Ryan having Bentley. The couple went to pick Bentley up, and Ryan sized Maci’s garage up, taking note of the keg and beer pong table. Dalis suggested Ryan do something about it, and Ryan told her there just wasn’t anything he could do.
With a night off, Maci and her friends played beer pong in the garage.
Ryan, Dalis, and Bentley got back to Ryan’s parents’ house, and the two immediately went to pack Dalis’ things for her trip. Dalis took the opportunity to tell Ryan that Maci’s friends are dirty, came out of nowhere once she got famous, and they had been arrested for drunk fights. Dalis asked if Ryan ever felt like anyone used him from being on Teen Mom. He didn’t think anyone really had, since he doesn’t hang out with anyone.
Maci and Katie went to get their nails done, and Maci mentioned rent being due the next day, but Katie admitted she didn’t have the money and appreciated Maci taking care of it. They discussed Maci becoming famous and if people treating her differently. Maci was excited for her old friends, Mimi and Sway, to come home for the weekend.
As they stopped at a gas station, Mimi and Sway wondered what Katie would be wearing and who would be at Maci’s house when they got there. The two picked Brandon’s ex-girlfriend, Erica, up on their way.
Ryan’s friend, Spencer, came over, and Ryan received a call from Dalis. She asked who all was there, and he told her a camera guy and people from MTV and Bentley and hung up on her out of annoyance. Spencer revealed to Ryan that he had a crush on Katie.
Maci and her friends headed to a dance club, where Ryan just happened to be. (Bentley was at home singing/rapping Christmas songs with Ryan’s parents). Maci wondered where Bentley was, and Ryan said at home with his parents. Maci asked if Ryan was having fun, and Ryan told her he was and she looked sexy. Drama and fighting started in the club, so everyone headed out to cabs. Maci immediately got a call from Ryan, saying he and Spencer wanted to come to Maci’s house so Spencer could talk to Katie. Maci wasn’t in the same cab as Katie, so Ryan asked her to find out, but she never called him back, and he and his friends ended back up at his parents’ house. Ryan’s friends were pretty sure Maci and Ryan each still had feelings for each other.
In the morning, Ryan talked to his parents about seeing Maci the night before and the way Dalis had been behaving before they shared a group hug with Bentley. Later on, Maci went to pick Bentley up, and she and Ryan discussed his flirty behavior the night before after Ryan made the clever remark of calling Maci the “Wendy’s girl.” Ryan apologized for his actions at the club, and Maci thanked him for inviting her along that night, but she couldn’t go. Maci suggested they go to lunch or do something together with Bentley the next day.
The next day, Maci got ready and took Bentley to meet Ryan at the track so Bentley could ride his teeny tiny dirtbike. Ryan told Dalis the plan, and she was not very happy. Ryan went anyway, and Maci thought it was good for Bentley to have both of his parents around at the same time. Ryan asked if Maci thought things between them would ever work out, and Maci admitted she would always love Ryan because he was a first love, but at least the couple got Bentley out of it. The special wrapped up with Maci saying her life isn’t about the destination – it is about the journey.
