Winston Salem, North Carolina became an active film location for the cast and crew of "The Ultimate Life" for the past few weeks. The movie is being directed by Michael Landon, Jr. and is based on the popular novel by Jim Stovall.

Producer Rick Eldridge described the process as a joy. "It's been a dream to do the sequel to "The Ultimate Gift," said Eldridge who said the story incorporates the journal into the movie to tell the story of how the character Red Stevens overcomes a life of poverty on his way to finding success.

Ali Hillis returns in the role of Alexia and liked being able to go back in time to see how Red learned the lessons for having a life in which "each day is anticipated and savored as a gift." Lee Meriwether returns as Miss Hastings. "You won't be disappointed when you see this movie," said Meriwether. "It's a love story and an adventure."

Watch the video to hear behind the scenes interview with Rick Eldridge and Drew Waters who plays Red ages 30-43 years old. There is footage from the set with pictures of Michael Landon, Jr and Peter Fonda. The scene with Fonda as Jacob Early, a ranch owner who hires Gus and Red, demonstrates the gift of hard work.

Shooting started the first of March and will wrap up by the end of the month. The edits and post production work will be done in the Charlotte studios. "We are blessed to be able to do charitable screenings before the movie release late September of October," said Eldridge.
