Behind the Candelabra is a biographical look at the lives of Liberace (Michael Douglas) and male lover, Scott Thorson (Matt Damon) and it has been a hard sale.
When director Steven Soderbergh went shopping for a movie studio, many didn't want it, saying that it was, "too gay," and that, "they "didn’t know how to sell it. They were scared.”
As for Damon's thoughts, he seems more bothered by the spray tanning, than the screened moments of physical intimacy with Douglas, which do sound pretty graphic.
Nevertheless, HBO will be premiering the film on May 26th of this year.
Other stars include Rob Lowe, Dan Akroyd, Scott Bakula, Paul Reiser and Debbie Reynolds.
