Casefile Clues is a newsletter focused on real life genealogy and the documents and methodology used to solve a genealogical problem. Casefile Clues provide researchers with citations, case studies, reasoning behind a genealogical argument, sources and illustrations. Casefile Clues is geared toward those with some genealogical experience.
Recently, Michael launched Casefile Clues for Beginners. He had this to say about this new newsletter.
I chose to start Casefile Clues-Beginners because several subscribers asked for something they could recommend to their friends who had begun their genealogy research, but weren't at the level of experience that Casefile Clues readers are. Casefile Clues-Beginners includes two shorter articles focusing on more elementary sources, the basics of searching those sources, both online and offline sources. We hope to help researchers avoid the pitfalls that often seem to inadvertently catch newer researchers. Our tone is informal, but we exhibit good research skills and methodology.
