Hear the Fifth of Beethoven at the DSO.

No other musical statement can match its raw power and bracing energy. Louis Langrée leads the Detroit Symphony in Beethoven's Fifth Symphony - its infamous four opening notes often described as "fate knocking at the door." This concert also features dazzling showpieces for violin and orchestra by Ravel and Saint-Saens, with Acting Concertmaster Kimberly Kennedy, and the DSO premiere of a work by Chinese composer Qigang Chen, who served as music director of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Beethoven’ Fifth is arguably the most recorded symphony ever. Amazon alone lists over 1500 albums.

Prices start at $15.00
