Some 21 breweries will offer their wares during the Mira Mesa Festival of Beers, starting at 1 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 24.
Several new breweries, including Julian Hard Cider, will be featured, said Kevin Hellman, the San Diego CityBeat magazine -- one of the festival's sponsors -- who is coordinating the event.
"We expect between 500 and 600 persons to attend; [it] should be fun," he added.
San Diego-region breweries include Alesmith, Ballast Point, Callahans, Green Flash, Hess, The Lost Abbey, Lightning, Manzanita, New English, Rough Draft, Saint Archer, Tailgate Beer and Wet 'N Reckless.
Brewers from outside San Diego County are Firestone, Lagunitas, Magic Maui Brewing and Pyramid.
The Farmers -- with members from the legendary San Diego-based Beat Farmers -- are one of the bands set to perform, and "we are very excited to have them at this event," Hellman said.
Festival proceeds will benefit the non-profit Mira Mesa Chamber of Commerce.
San Diego CityBeat, along with 91X radio station and the Mira Mesa Chamber of Commerce, is sponsoring the festival.
Attendees must be 21 and hold a valid identification card. Ticket prices range from $32 for VIP admission to a $21 for a "designated driver." For more information or to purchase tickets, please go to http://miramesabeerfest.com/
