Beer does not have to be a stand-alone ingredient. Many fine cocktail recipes contain the happy hop. Beer should never be discounted as one dimensional, which is a mistake that a lot bartenders make. Today we will make three beer cocktails, the Dr. Pepper, Boilermaker and Irish Car Bomb.
Dr. Pepper
This cocktail contains no actual Dr. Pepper, the name is derived from the taste that the multiple ingredients.
- In a pint glass, fill half with lager and a third with cola.
- Fill a shot glass with amaretto and drop into the glass
Chug your drink being careful not to chip a tooth.
The Flaming Dr Pepper. is made with a half pint of beer and a shot, without the cola.
- Fill the shot glasswith three quarters of amaretto and one quarter of 151-proof liquor.
- Light the shot and drop into the glass.
Boilermaker, or beer and shot, or even called a beer and a bump.
Fill a Pint glass with beer and a shot of whiskey, either side by side or dropping the whiskey in the glass which is then called a depth charge.
Irish Car Bomb
The name comes from drink's Irish ingredients — typically Guiness stout, Baileys Irish Cream, and Jameson Irish Whiskey.
- In a shot glass float the whiskey on top of the Bailey’s
- Drop the shot glass into the stout.
- Once mixed, the drink must be consumed quickly because it will curdle.
