Is the recently re-ignited lyrical feud between Beenie Man & Bounty Killer a publicity stunt? Following a recent stage show featuring the two artistes, fans & observers have been left to wonder if that’s the case.
The two internationally acclaimed Dancehall entertainers shared the stage at Bounty Killer’s Money Mondays event at Club Impulse in New Kingston on Monday night. This apparent show of unity follows recent exchanges of diss songs between Beenie Man & Bounty Killer. Despite making peace earlier this year, Beenie & Bounty’s long-standing rivalry was once again at the fore following disparaging remarks the “War Lord” made about Beenie’s divorce from fellow deejay, D’Angel. Beenie had claimed that D’Angel’s decision to skip his birthday party and attend Bounty Killer’s own was the final straw in his marriage to D’Angel while Bounty claimed that Angel was using Beenie for personal gain.
However, during the Money Mondays event, Bounty Killer & Beenie Man were together on stage; insisting that the lyrical war is friendly & that the two are cool with each other. Furthermore, the two revered deejays advised fans not to take the feud seriously despite the voracity displayed in the lyrics of the singles exchanged between the two.
Beenie Man & Bounty Killer have been rivals since the early 1990s, setting the foundation for their rivalry at STING ’93 when the two engaged in a memorable lyrical clash. Rumors have swirled throughout the Dancehall industry that Beenie & Bounty are feuding as a prelude to another STING clash between the two entertainers this December.
