Beefy cheesy baked beans recipe

Baked beans can make an entire meal for four, and you can find all the ingredients for this beefy cheesy baked beans recipe at local grocery stores in Buffalo. You can also make your own Buffalo baked beans and use those instead.

Beefy cheesy baked beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound 85% to 90% lean ground beef, 100% white meat ground turkey or 1 cup recontituted TVP
  • 1/2 cup red or yellow sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 can (28 ounces) pork and beans or vegetarian baked beans or use recipe for Buffalo baked beans (recipe follows)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. hot sauce
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar or Colby Jack cheese

Directions:

  1. In large saute pan, brown ground beef with onion. Drain off any fat.
  2. Mix with remaining ingredients, except cheese, and stir well.
  3. Preheat oven to 350*F.
  4. Spray 9x13-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray
  5. Carefully pour contents of saute pan into casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350*F for 30 minutes. Top with shredded cheese and bake an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is slightly golden brown and bubbly hot.
  6. Yield: 4 servings.

Buffalo baked beans

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 to 16 ounces each) pinto, pink, light red or red kidney beans
  • 1 cup Buffalo barbecue sauce
  • 2 slices bacon, crisply cooked, cooked and crumbled

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350*F. In 8x8-casserole dish sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, mix together all ingredients. Cover casserole dish with tin foil and bake for 15 minutes at 350*F. Remove foil, bake another 10 minutes, until hot and bubbly. Serves 4.
