Butch Jones is at it again.
Three days after getting a verbal commitment from Knoxville Webb safety Todd Kelly Jr., Jones has hit the jackpot yet again.
Beech junior running back Jalen Hurd, the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee for the Class of 2014 and the No. 10 nationally by 247sports.com committed to the Volunteers via his Twitter account this morning.
"I have officially committed to play football at The University of Tennessee," Hurd said via Twitter.
Hurd chose the Vols over 20 other offers including Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Florida,
Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame just to name a few.
"He has great size and speed and I am very excited for him," Beech head coach Anthony Crabtree said.
"He has great football IQ and he will bring great work ethic and character to the program,"
Hurd had the most prolific season for a running back in state of Tennessee history
in 2012.
Not only did he win the Class AAA Mr. Football Back award, he rushed for a single season state record 3,357 yards and 46 total touchdowns.
Hurd (6-3, 225) also helped the Buccaneers win the Class 5A state title as he rushed for a title game record 394 yards and seven touchdowns in the 56-35 win over Columbia.
