Beech Mountain Resort college week spans 2 weekends

While the weather outside is frightful, it is perfect for winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding. Collegians who work hard in school deserve some fun, and that’s what they will have at the annual College Week at Beech Mountain Resort from Feb. 2-10, 2013, spanning 2 weekends. Students get a lift ticket discount of 40% with school identification.

The most elevated ski resort in the East, Beech Mountain stands 5,506 feet above sea level in the North Carolina mountains. Their high speed quad lift is second to none in the state, getting riders up the slopes quicker.

Music, fun competitions and a fantastic view of the mountain scene are just part of the itinerary.

A Bathing Beauty Competition will be held to start College Week on Feb. 2. Imagine what fun it will be for hardy men and co-ed beauties to show their junk in 1 piece suits and bikinis on the Play Yard Slope. "Outrageousness and originality" are the judging standards. As Beech Mountain is a family facility, the only possible way to be disqualified from the Bathing Beauty Competition is if someone goes commando, totally without any apparel. A $15 fee, which includes a lift ticket, is required to enter the contest, which starts at 12:30 p.m.
