A bee swarm kills a dog after a neighbor decides to cut down a tree holding a bee hive, and on Monday, the story has become a trending topic online.
In North Hollywood, California, a massive swarm of angry bees attacked and killed a dog. Attempts to kill the bees in an effort to save the dog were unsuccessful. The dog that was killed was a pit bull that was five years old.
The accident occurred when a neighbor decided to cut down a tree that contained a bee hive in it. Once the bee hive was disturbed, the bees began to swarm a nearby dog—in this case, the pit bull.
Fire crews were called to the scene. In an attempt to rescue the dog, the crews sprayed foam on the bees in an effort to kill them so that they could not only save the dog, but protect any other people or animals in the area.
Fortunately, no other kids or pets were harmed.
“We’ve all got kids and dogs,” a neighbor told KTLA, according to Fox 5 San Diego. “Luckily, they didn’t hurt any kids, but it’s terrible they hurt a dog.”
The owner of the dog that was killed by a swarm of bees has yet to comment publicly.
