Update 8/25/14: Shortly after the publication of this article, Saving Barrow County Animal Control announced that rescue is on the way!

A bedraggled dog is currently available for adoption, or rescue, at the Barrow Animal Control in Winder, Georgia, after someone dumped her behind the animal control building.

The Facebook page, Saving Barrow County Animal Control Pets, created a post for the dog on Monday morning which reads:

Dumped behind AC building

The dog is estimated to be between five and eight years of age and she weighs just under 10 pounds. The dog is described as "friendly" and the facility has noted that she has a tumor on her tail. The dog, whose name is unknown, is available to adopters, or to rescue organizations.

Someone, for reasons unknown, has chosen to discard this friendly girl and now she needs to be saved from the animal control facility where she was taken in; please take a moment to network the following information:
