After some morning showers taper off, milder temperatures will arrive into this afternoon as a warm front surges well north of the region, but a weak cold front will begin to approach by early afternoon with the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms into this evening. A weak area of high pressure will then build into the region with drier weather and sunshine returning for Mother’s Day, just in time to salvage some of the weekend and the Tulip Festival.

Unsettled weather then looks to continue into early next week as a frontal boundary approaches with unseasonably warm temperatures becoming cooler and more seasonable by mid-week.
