Beck is performing at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on Thursday July 24, 2014. Beck is best known for his break through hit "Loser" that rose to the top ten in U.S. music charts and topped the alternative rock charts. The platinum selling artist is bringing The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger to open the show which features John Lennon's son Sean Lennon. Gates open at 6 PM for this special show.
The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger is a collaboration between Sean Lennon and his girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl. They just released Midnight Sun which the duo considers their first proper release. They have released three other albums. The first one was experimental psychedelic music combined with sweet vocals between Sean and Charlotte. The next was a charming, simple acoustic album which was intentionally left raw. Their next release was a limited electric release. Now with a few years of playing and writing together they feel they have something special in Midnight Sun. You can find out more about this group at their website.
Beck is the headliner not just based on the success of the single "Loser." Beck has released a dozen album with several of them going platinum. In 2005 Beck topped the alternative charts again with a single called "E-Pro." "Where It's At," "The New Pollution," and "Girl" were other Beck songs that claimed their spot in the top ten of the alternative rock charts. However, Beck cares more about being creative than chart success. You can learn more about Beck at his website where you can find out more about his latest release Morning Phase.
