Bestselling author and talk radio show host Glenn Beck is reaching out to Phil Robertson and his family in the wake of A&E's indefinite suspension of Mr. Robertson for allegedly "anti-gay" remarks he made in a recent interview with GQ magazine. The star of the "Duck Dynasty" reality television program, Robertson stated that, as a heterosexual man, he finds a woman's vagina more appealing than a man's anus, and that, as a Christian, he believes that homosexuality is a sin. (Apparently, in the year of our Lord 2013, such statements are considered extremely controversial, to the point of being borderline hate-speech.)
The left-wing homosexual activist groups GLAAD and Human Rights Campaign began shrieking in horror, and in response A&E immediately suspended Robertson from the program, which just so happens to be the highest-rated cable show in the country and a major cash-cow for the network. Robertson's family, which makes up most of the rest of the show's cast, have stood by their "patriarch," and now the future of the popular show is in considerable doubt.
Enter Glenn Beck.
Beck started his own television network, called TheBlaze, in 2011 shortly after leaving Fox News. And he just offered the Robertsons a place for their show, should they decide to leave A&E.
TheBlaze isn't in nearly as many households as A&E, but given the enormous popularity of Duck Dynasty, there is little doubt that the cable channel would be quickly picked up by additional cable providers should the Robertsons decide to take Beck up on his offer. TheBlaze also offers internet streaming for paying subscribers.
One concern, however, should Duck Dynasty join TheBlaze: Phil Robertson is a member of the Churches of Christ (Protestant), while Glenn Beck is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). Some Protestants consider Mormons to be cult members. I do not know Robertson's opinion on the issue, but you can be sure that the establishment media would do everything in their power to drive a wedge between the Robertsons and Beck should they enter into a business relationship together. Just something to keep in mind.
