According to a March 14 report from Wombat Sports, Jasminka Cive doesn't appreciate the way Aussie MMA star Bec Hyatt has been talking about her in recent weeks.
"I respect Bec´s skills, also the fact that she is a mother and a fighter," Cive said of Hyatt. "Not anyone can do that. Also the fact that she overcame a lot of things and is for certain a role model for some people. What I don´t like is the way she talked about me in the last weeks, talking a lot of smack, very disrespectful. Well, nevermind, like I said I don´t trash talk my opponents, I am a respectful person, that´s my motto in life. You always get what you deserve. I train hard, I train my standup, wrestling, everything, like I always do. I will be ready."
Cive was responding to Hyatt's recent comments, where "Rowdy" essentially called her out for trash-talking.
"In a recent interview, she suggested that I talk a little too much, which I don't disagree with at all. I love to talk! The irony of this, however, is that I've discovered that her fiancé continually trash-talks about me on my fan page, suggesting that I'm not a real fighter and I'm nothing but hype," Hyatt said. "I didn't actually click on it at first, but then I noticed the same douchebag facial tattoo! From day one, I had originally planned on keeping it civil leading into this fight, as I had no issues with Jasminka and I was happy to ignore the twenty 'fan' memes that she tweets me a day, which really her buddy from Germany just creates for her."
Some good-natured back-and-forth verbal jabs never hurt a fight build-up, so if anything, Cive and Hyatt are doing a good job of hyping their Invicta FC 5 bout.
As long as they hug it out after punching each other in the head for 15 minutes, it's "no harm, no foul."
In other matters, Hyatt seems to be surprised by the amount of media she has been getting of late.
"I’m starting to think I could defecate into a cereal bowl and it’d make news somewhere at the moment LOL," Hyatt tweeted recently.
If Hyatt did poop into a cereal bowl, it probably would be quirky enough to make the news. Hopefully, she'll decide against that idea and stick to cage fighting.
With such serious fighting skills, along with a bright personality, Hyatt should get used to the constant media attention. MMA fans can check Hyatt out on Twitter @rowdybec, or live in person at Invicta FC 5. She's set to battle Jasminka Cive on Apr. 5 at Invicta FC 5, live from the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.
