Music lessons now available for kids

Help your children discover rhythm and an appreciation for music. Register for music classes for children offered by the City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture Department. Students will meet at the Piano Preparatory Academy, 3899 Indian Ripple Road, Suite C.

Music Makers (ages 4-6½ old) is a high energy class that helps your child discover rhythm, pitch and musical patterns laying the foundation for future music study. Students will experience a variety of musical activities including singing, games, movement and exploration of the piano using our keyboard lab. Choose between class on Thursdays, March 13 – May 8, 2:30 -3:00 pm or class on Saturdays, March 15 – May 10, 9:30- 10:00am.

Beginning Guitar Class for Children (ages 7-10) offers an introductory opportunity for children before committing to private lessons. In small groups, students learn the fundamentals of how to hold a guitar, basic guitar notation and classical guitar techniques. After attending class once a week for ten weeks, students are able to play several pieces, as well as accompaniments to those pieces. Class is scheduled for Saturdays, March 15 – May 10, 10:00 – 10:45 am.
