On Thursday a large ice jam formed on the Winooski River in Montpelier at around noon.

The ice jam raised the prospect of significant flooding. In 1992, an ice jam flooded Montpelier.

Fortunately for Montpelierites by 1 p.m., the ice jam started to move out with a beaver on-board.
