MAC and lead makeup artist Neil Young brought the beauty backstage at NYFW during the Noon By Noor fashion show at The Studio in Lincoln Center on Friday, Feb. 8, creating the classic look with a contemporary feel to complement the designers’ vision.
Backstage during New York Fashion Week was a revelation watching Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa’s beauty and fashion concept unfold before your eyes. Under the tent, safe from the blistering weather of the blizzard, were busy hands at work creating the look seen on the models of the Noon By Noor Fashion Show.
Fantastic, colorful gel nails were formed, hair was coiffed and the makeup by MAC Cosmetics and lead makeup artist Neil Young brought the Noon By Noor look to life. While busy beautifying the runway models, Neil paused for a moment backstage to chat with the Examiner to give the readers a little insight of the look he was creating for the Noon By Noor Fashion Show during NYFW.
The look is all about beautiful skin, a matte face, red lip and eyebrows, the classic line from the 30’s and 40’s with a contemporary feel, although not as angular with softer brows.
Flawless was the face of Noon By Noor created by MAC Cosmetics. Backstage at NYFW, each makeup artist had to have their work examined and Okayed by Neil Young before moving on to the finishing touches of hair and wardrobe.
The focal point was the red lips, with the makeup artist team meticulously outlining and filling in the pout, as seen in the slideshow, with a timeless little tip using a tissue or paper towel to create a flawless lip.
Minimal eye shadow was used, however the tones were matte and earthy, with no mascara, which helped the red lips to pop out, making for ideal makeup this Valentine’s Day.
The MAC Cosmetics used backstage at NYFW by makeup artist Neil Young for the Noon By Noor Fashion Show are all available at Macy’s, found on Long Island in Valley Stream at the Green Acres Mall and Bloomingdales in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City.
