In today’s world of beauty regiments it can be difficult to keep the gunk out of your hair brushes and combs with all the beauty products that are used on a daily basis. Many people apply gels, serums, hair spray or leave in conditioners to their hair as part of their morning routine.
All of these products do many things to ones hair, brushes and combs. Hair is more easily manageable with less fly-away stands sticking out all over the place. A particular style is held in place with hair spray or mousse. Serums, gels or leave in conditioners leave hair looking silky, smooth with an appearance of more volume.
With all that said people tend to forget what all those beauty products can do to the tools you use to style your hair. Combs and hair brushes also get a coating from each of the hair styling products used. Over time it builds up and causing the bristles to stick together. One of the worst things to happen to a hair brush is letting it sit too long without being cleaned.
What happens when a comb or brush isn’t cleaned periodically is it takes on a sour smell. Part of that smell is from the beauty products stuck on these tools and the other part is from constant brushing and picking up dandruff and sweat. Just a few days can turn a new comb or brush into one that you really wouldn’t want to run through your hair.
Keeping your hair tools is easy if you follow this simple little trick.
Then you will never have to worry about build up, smell or grabbing a dirty comb or brush ever again.
After you finish your morning routine place a few drops of shampoo into a wide glass that will hold your combs and brushes and fill it with hot tap water. Put your comb and brush inside and swish them around for a few seconds and let them remain in the glass all day. In the evening when you are getting ready for bed run the water in the sink with warm water. Then remove the comb and brush from the glass and rub them together. Rinse them thoroughly under the warm running water and then shake the excess water out. Place them on a paper towel or clean wash cloth on the vanity counter. Dump the water from the glass and rinse it out well so it will be ready to use the next day.
Now when you wake up in the mornings you will always have clean brushes and combs to use and never be running sticky, smelly and gummy brushes and combs through your hair ever again.
Enjoy cleaner hair by using clean combs and brushes every day!
