Beauty Product Review: Mac Tinted Lip Condition in Fuchsia Fix

Lip conditioners are a must-have item for any woman. Chicago winters can be brutal and having an amazing lip conditioner will help protect your lips from those cold, dry winter days. Now that summer is coming around, the lip conditioners will help protect your lips from the hot Chicago sun and the painful humidity.

Mac Cosmetics has two types of lip conditioners, there’s the regular lip conditioner and the tinted lip conditioner. The regular lip conditioner is a lightweight “protective emollient balm” that was formulated with SPF 15. The deal with the lip conditioners is that they will condition your lips and lock in the moisture so your lips stay hydrated during the dry winter days and those hot summer days. If the lips are already dry, the lip conditioner will help repair them. While the lip conditioner has no color they do have a nice vanilla scent to them.

Next are the tinted lip conditioners, which have the same affect as the regular lip conditioners, but they give a sheer wash of color and natural sheen to the lips. Mac offers a small line of tinted lip conditioners and they often get released with various collections throughout the year. Currently in the permanent Mac collection is: Fuchsia Fix, which was part of the DSquared line in October 2009, Petting Pink and Soothing Beige.

Mac lip conditioners all contain the following ingredients: Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil and Vitamins A &E.

Lip and tinted lip conditioners cost $14.50 and can be purchased at Mac free standing, Mac pro stores and department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Sacks, Dillard’s and Macy’s.

After trying many lip balms, lip conditioners and chap sticks, lip conditioners from Mac Cosmetics are by far the best products out there. While the color is a bit on the sheer side, it’s very buildable and does give a nice flush to the lips.

Not only is the smell really nice, but also that the product does an amazing job at keeping the lips completely hydrated. As we all know, Chicago weather can be unpredictable and brutal. Having a great lip conditioner is crucial in keeping the lips safe and hydrated. It’s recommended to use the lip conditioner every night before bed. Simply apply a small amount to the lips and head off to sleep. The product will help keep your lip moisturized during the night.

After trying many other drug store brands, nothing compares to Mac. Nivea and Soft Lips are very drying. These products have to be re-applied every several minutes and the lips just keep getting dryer each time. $14.50 might seem steep, but keep in mind you are getting 0.5 fl oz of product and it does last a long time.
