You’ve got your regular beauty routine at home, but it can be difficult to take all of those bulky products on the road. So why not use your next vacation as an opportunity to simplify your beauty regimen?
Packing is a great time to reevaluate which items are essential and which you can do without. If you can survive your trip without a few of your usual products, then you may be able to do away with some unnecessary beauty baggage.
While simpler is almost always better, there are some important products that you should be sure to bring along when you travel. Fit them in your luggage and they’ll help make your beauty routine quick, easy and effective:
1. A strong frizz controller like Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk.
This works on wet hair, but is best for regular touch-ups throughout the day, especially when you’ve been walking around in a humid climate.
2. Basic bobby pins, found at any drugstore.
These come in handy when you only have a few minutes to fix your hair, whether it’s restraining frizz or adding a bit of last-minute volume.
3. Blotting paper like CVS brand Oil Absorbing Sheets.
When you don’t have time to wash your face and reapply all of your make-up, try refreshing your look by dabbing your skin with some blotting paper. Using one of these little squares will control shine while leaving your make-up intact. Bonus tip: if you don’t have any blotting paper on you, grab a couple of Starbucks’ napkins. They’re free (assuming you buy some coffee) and work almost as well.
The goal is simple and easy beauty on-the-go, but traveling can also give you the opportunity to try new products. For example, if your hair isn’t too temperamental, try testing the hotel shampoo and conditioner (especially if you’re staying somewhere nice). You might find something you like and end up bringing home a few spa-quality samples.
