Beauty entrepreneur Leanne Sedlak announced yesterday, November 4 that she has opened up a second location of her day spa, SkinCatering, in Springfield’s Tower Square. Slated for grand opening festivities on November 14, SkinCatering’s new location will offer the same massage therapy and skincare services provided by the mobile SkinCatering spa and the South Hadley location.
At the grand opening festivities, set for 5 p.m., SkinCatering will provide gift bags for the first 35 guests, passed desserts, champagne at the door and a raffle to benefit the Melanoma Foundation of New England – a significant charity for the company, as SkinCatering is the first company in Western Massachusetts to be certified by the Melanoma Foundation of New England for skin cancer awareness, according to a press release emailed to the Springfield Entrepreneurship Examiner.
Sedlak is excited to open her second location in Springfield. “Downtown has joy, artful creation, and a real sense of community that gets overlooked,” she said in the press release.
In addition to offering massage and skincare services, Sedlak has also created an all-natural skincare line to complement the treatments she provides to clients. Items range from facial moisturizers and cleansers to lip balms and diaper cream.
Sedlak was named Western Mass Women’s magazine’s 2013 Woman to Watch: Beauty. She is a licensed massage therapist and calls herself the “Chief Chiller-Outer” of her business. She's passionate about helping people make positive changes in their health and partners with SurvivingSkin.org for speaking engagements, as well as creating a continuing education event for skincare professionals to detect changes in moles in their clients for early detection of skin cancer.
