Designers often have the foresight, and most notably the talent to take on many hats- be it designer, stylist, CEO or consultant.
So it should come as no surprise when a designer takes a leap of faith from clothing into another related venture that compliments their already well established sartorial catalog.
Proenza Schouler is the latest among a handful of designers who are making the leap from clothes to makeup.
Tom Ford has done it, Christian Dior, Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui and a few others have already made the successful transition. Schouler is giving it a spin with their latest collaboration with MAC Cosmetics.
What should we expect from the new line of makeup? If the clothing is anything to go by, then we should expect to see a subdued and refined collection--i.e. classic colors with an understated approach.
We love it when designers collaborate with already established makeup brands (Pierre Hardy for NARS anyone!) or when they go out on their own, and Proenza Schouler is no different.
The line, which is set to debut this Spring, is reported to include a range of beauty products from nail lacquers, to lip pencils, eyeliner and lipstick.
Here's to the idea of wearing designer literally from head to toe-- Proenza Schouler bags, dresses, shoes and now makeup!
