Before you can look great with a new hair style, fabulous hair color, or drop dead make-up, you must begin with beautiful healthy skin.  In order to obtain and maintain skin that is flawless,  there are some things that you must do and some things that you should never do.

  • First, never go to bed with make-up on
  • Always wash your face at night to remove the dirt and grim of  the day
  • Always wash your face in the morning with a gentle cleanser to remove all the bacteria left by your pillow or bed linen
  • Never  go outside without applying a SPF15 sunscreen and a chap stick lip balm
  • Do wash your face with warm not hot water to open your pores and rinse with cold water to close your pores
  • About once a week steam your pores open to deep cleanse.  Do this by:  boil a pot of water, add a little rosemary, drape a towel over your hair and hold your face about 6 inches away from the water for about 3-5 minutes, cleanse with a gentle cleanser and rinse with cold water
  • Use a moisturizing treatment appropriate for your skin type (oily, dry, or combination)
  • Do drink 6-8 glasses of water a day to help clear your skin, remove toxins from your body, and give it a healthy glow
  • Do limit salt intake which can leave your face looking bloated
  • Do avoid foods and drinks high in sugar and caffeine
  • Do exfoliate your skin once a week to remove dead and dull skin and don't forget to cleanse and moisturize according to your skin type
  • Do Not pick at existing pimples because this will only spread the bacteria and leave unsightly marks
  • Do try and keep your hands off your face as much as possible because the hands have natural oils that can clog pores
  • Do get plenty of exercise
  • Get plenty of rest

Doing all you can to develop and  maintain healthy and radiant skin will allow you to look younger and beautiful for many years to come.

Enjoy!

No matter how old you are, everyone needs a little reminder every now and then. The younger generation may not have known the tips so I thank Ms. Steans for writing this article. Well done.

Your article really hits home how important it is to take care of your skin so that beauty follows you for years. I think the suggestions you make should be followed by everyone!

I also wanted to ask: Have you ever heard of New Skin Appeal? It's a spa, located in Washington, Indiana that is getting a lot of buzz. They have a website: www.newskinappealonline.com. Can you let me know your take on them? I can be reached at: andrew@lambmaster.com. Thanks! Again, great post.
