False eyelashes are one of the hottest eye makeup accessories. They add instant glamour, providing eyes with extra length, volume, and deeper color. It used to be that false eyelashes were only worn by celebrities or while wearing costumes for Halloween.
But lashes have gone mainstream. In addition to being available at finer cosmetics lines in department stores, false eyelashes are available for sale in drugstores, and even some grocery stores as well.
The maker of the false eyelash isn't as important as deciding what look you would most like to achieve. The number one mistake rookie false eyelash wearers make is choosing a set of false lashes that are too dramatic. Always remember that false eyelashes are added to what you already have, so it's important to imagine what the false eyelashes will look like when paired with your natural lashline.
For a natural, but enhanced eyelash look, look for a set of false eyelashes that are short to medium in length, and sparse with lashes. This will create a subtle look, in which most people will be unable to tell if the lashes are real or not. Shu Uemura false eyelashes in Black Focal are perfect for this type of look.
Another great trick, one that has been used on countless brides, is to choose a set of false eyelashes in brown. By layering a dark brown pair of eyelashes on top of black mascara, a filled-in, but natural look is created. It adds just a hint of thickness and fullness, without telling anyone your secret. I highly recommend MAC Cosmetics #4 lashes for this purpose.
If a more dramatic and obvious statement is to be made, look for a thicker, more dense false eyelash. This adds drama without adding an obnoxious amount of length. Increased false eyelash length makes the false eyelashes feel cumbersome and can intrude upon your line of sight. MAC Cosmetics false eyelashes #3 provide wearable drama for virtually anyone.
Regardless of what look you choose for false eyelashes, remember to properly care for the lashes themselves. With proper care, they can be worn several times, making them a sensible investment. False eyelashes are a great way to feel glamorous without spending a lot of money.

I like the idea of blending the look with natural lashes.
Cool article. While they are certainly not for day-wear, I like the Victor & Rolfe designer lashes from Shu Uemura's Tokyo Lash Bar. Not practical in the least, but definitely draw immediate impact! I've gotten a few of my clients to try them out...they come in extra handy at Halloween! =)
like the idia of false eyelashes that look real however i can never pu them on lol
