Winter is set to be destroyed today…on the Sabbath.
Winter is all around perfect. She is an owner surrender in Manhattan ACC with nothing but glowing comments.
A volunteer writes, “There is no way to not notice Winter. She wins the shiniest coat ever contest, and certainly the biggest, pointiest ears contest. This little girl sits in her kennel with her big rabbit ears making herself noticed just by virtue of how darn cute she is!”
“And then, when you take her out of her kennel she lives up to what you would expect and is a delight! She was surrendered to the shelter by her owner who said he has no time for her and is moving. Her previous owner says she knows sit, down, stay (relax is the word to use) and that she is good on the leash and playful.”
“I can confirm all of that and she even went into the play position whens she saw my camera! We are told she loves to play with other dogs. Walking through the park was like a recitation of this dog's attributes as EVERYONE commented on her.”
“This compact little girl is 7 months old, so has a little growing to do. She will be an awesome addition to any household; she is sweet, playful, fun, silly and a lover. I couldn't resist and I'm not sure you will be able to either.”
Unforturnately, Winter is in one of the highest kill facilities in the nation. Despite millions of Maddies Fund dollars designated to create a no-kill New York City, killing continues 7 days a week, 365 days a year. NYC ACC doesn’t even take Christmas off when it comes to destroying animals.
